A palm oil experience at the Food Expo in Milan

Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life is the central theme of Expo Milano 2015,  the Universal Exhibition that Milan, Italy, hosts from May 1 to October 31, 2015. Over this six-month period, Milan is a global showcase where more than 140 participating countries show the best of their technology that offers a concrete answer to a vital need: being able to guarantee healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone, while respecting the Planet and its equilibrium.

An oil to feed the world
Being by far the most widely-used vegetable oil in the world, palm oil plays an important role in facing this enormous challenge. One of the main palm oil producing countries in the world, Malaysia, presents its ambitions and committments at the Expo. The Malaysian Pavilion at the Expo displays the nation’s commitment to environmental sustainability, technological innovation and artistic ability, and underlines its determination to pursue sustainability through the responsible use of its natural resources, and their active safeguarding.

The seed, a symbol of growth
The seed-shaped structure of the pavilion creates a unique experience, expressing the beginning of a process and all the potential contained inside it. Four rain forest seeds tell the Malaysia Pavilion’s stories. The palm oil story is one of them. Facts and figures on the nutritional and sustainability aspect of palm oil are showcased and the EPOA communication material is available at the pavilion.

In total the Expo expects to welcome over 20 million visitors.
