Palm oil consumption

Global consumption rose from 14.6 million tons in 1995 to 61.1 million tons in 2015, making it the most consumed oil in the world. The main consumers of palm oil are China, India, Indonesia and the European Union. India, China and the EU do not produce crude palm oil and their demand is entirely met by imports. In 2015, India, China and the EU accounted for 47.9 per cent of global imports.
